Height and Width Help
The correct size of screen should be determined in relation to the audience area. The screen should be large enough for the audience at the back of the room to be able to see the subject matter, but not so large that those at the front have difficulty in seeing the full width of the screen.

On a level floor, the bottom of the screen should be between
102cm to 122cm from the floor for 4:3 format,
or between 120cm and 90cm for 16:9 format.
The ceiling height will also be the factor that governs the maximum
width of the screen. For example, in a room with a ceiling height
of 300cm, a 4:3 format screen would have a screen width of
approximately 260cm to allow the bottom of the screen to be at the
optimum height.
How To Calculate a Custom Size
| 4:3 NTSC/PAL | Video 16:9 HDTV | 5:4 Data Graphics |
| Height = Diagonal x 0.6 | Height = Diagonal x 0.49 | Height = Diagonal x 0.625 |
| Width = Diagonal x 0.8 | Width = Diagonal x 0.87146 | Width = Diagonal x 0.781 |
| Diagonal = Height x 1.667 | Diagonal = Height x 2.04 | Diagonal = Height x 1.601 |
| Diagonal = Width x 1.25 | Diagonal = Width x 1.1475 | Diagonal = Width x 1.281 |
